Yuly Mireles
was raised in the boonies of Yuba City, California with her parents traditional roots of growing up en los ranchos of Jalisco, Mexico. She has translated a migrant's work ethic into every facet of her creations. Wearing multiple hats and putting in the extra work comes as second nature. In her mid twenties she chose to move to the Bay Area in pursuit of a dream that was birthed as a tiny child sitting on her parents roof - To make movies that would help humanity grow its empathy. After two years at the Academy of Art in San Francisco she ran into many hurdles that had her pivot into dropping out, picking up two jobs, and assisting her sister with her film projects. Learning on set was the medium in which she was able to flourish, not in a classroom. It was not long before she began working professionally on film sets in the Bay Area as a lighting and grip technician. While working in G&E Yuly began developing her curiosity for the performing arts. Her acceptance to the Summer Training Congress at the American Conservatory Theatre in 2013 gave her the confidence to enroll into a rigorous two year Meisner Technique program in San Francisco. Her love and respect for all departments in creating movies has continued to expand. While Yuly has worked professionally in film and television for over a decade, creating imaginary worlds began at the age of 5 when she dragged her sisters to watch her put on a play with her stuffed animals. She is no stranger to the odd and mystical forces that help one's creativity flourish as well. More than anything, she loves to be of service to her community.
“Creating is not just personal for me, it’s spiritual. It is where I nurture and honor every emotion that is deserving of being seen, heard, felt, and witnessed. This is how I honor my ancestors. By sharing our stories of Love: El bueno, El malo, and All that lives in between. And hopefully, most definitely laughter.”
